Farley
Granger and John Dall kill a prep-school pal just for the thrill of it, then
throw a party in the apartment where the body is hidden. Guests include the
victim’s parents and fiancée as well as their former college professor and
mentor, James Stewart. Inspired by the real-life Leopold-Loeb murders, the
story is presented in real time and appears to be shot without any cuts. Since
film reels were only ten minutes long back then, how did the master pull that
off? This was Hitchcock’s first film in color.
