Dean is not the first big name to come through Lakewood leading the charge for Clinton. He said he had grown up in a household of Democrats but always respected the Republican nominee.

Scott then continued saying:

This year there's something much darker happening on the other side and it's not a Republican thing - at all. As much as I disagree with their platform, I can respect it. This is not a Republican platform that Donald Trump is putting forth. This is a man, a racist man, who is disdainful of our Bill of Rights and our Constitution. It's a little crazy.

The West Wing cast also made a two-day tour through the state that culminated in a rally in Columbus on Sept. 27.

Republican nominee Donald Trump currently leads Clinton by 3.4 percentage points, according to Real Clear Politics. A recent Quinnipac poll shows that while most voters believe Clinton bested Trump in the first debate, Ohio voters are still leaning hard for the Republican, with Trump holding a 3 percentage point lead.
