I have been in practice for a little over 30 years now, and have had just about every conversation I could possibly have with people when they ask, “So, what do you do?” when we meet. After I tell them, the one statement that really throws me is, “Oh, a chiropractor? I don’t believe in Chiropractic?” This always confuses me because believing in chiropractic” sounds as if it was some kind of religion or a fictional practice in the same realm as if I stated I was a wizard from a Tolkien novel. So then I ask, “Have you ever been to a chiropractor, and do you know what chiropractic is all about?” And the answer is always, “No, I just don’t believe in it.”
And that is where the problem is.
