Here are the top three stories in and around Lakewood today:

  1. Investigator Justin Jameson has replaced Lakewood Youth Resource Officer George Rasch after his retirement. Lakewood Police Chief Kevin Kaucheck explained that the youth resource officer is the umbrella term for a school resource officer (SRO). SROs are trained in the D.A.R.E. program. (cleveland.com)
  2. A 33-year-old Seven Hills man is in police custody for stabbing his mother and grandmother to death and injuring his brother Sunday afternoon, said the Seven Hills Police Department. Officers responded to a call on East Pleasant Valley Road and reportedly found three stab wound victims and a male suspect, who was taken into custody. Two victims were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center and the third victim and suspect were taken to University Hospitals Medical Center Parma. (News 5 Cleveland)
  3. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through today's early morning hours across northern Ohio. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will linger off and on through Friday. Storms could be strong to severe, with gusty wind and heavy rain. (Spectrum News 1)
