Lakewood Alumni Foundation to Honor the District's Best and Brightest

Each year during homecoming week, a select few are chosen for the Lakewood Schools' three halls of fame.

For more than 20 years, the Lakewood Alumni Foundation has inducted student athletes, teachers and staff members who have gone above and beyond the expectations set before them.

The foundation splits the halls of fame into three categories: athletes, outstanding staff members and distinguished alumni, LAF executive director Teresa Andreani said.

Only up to nine people — three per each hall of fame — can be inducted.

Nominees are chosen by students, parents, staff and coaches depending on the category, and their applications are submitted to the LAF’s selection committee which makes the final induction decisions, Andreani said.

"It is always important to take time to recognize those who have helped build the Lakewood City Schools into the outstanding district that it is," Superintendent Jeff Patteson said. "Many, many people have made significant contributions to our schools over the years and it's wonderful that the honors some of them each year."
