Lakewood Arts Festival Hits Streets Aug. 5
The festival is celebrating its 40th birthday on Saturday. Will you be attending?

LAKEWOOD, OH — For 40 years, the Lakewood Arts Festival has brought culture and all kinds of artwork to the city. This year, after four decades of existence, the festival will return with its usual selection of ceramics, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, and more.
Once again, the festival will be held on Detroit Avenue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year, however, the festival will be held on Detroit between Arthur and Belle avenues, a slight change from previous years, the city says on its website.
There's no admission fee, so there's no reason not to check out the festival. Plus, the festival will happen rain or shine (or snow...it is Ohio).

Awards will be given out to designate the best in show, second and third place, as well as an award for new artists, and best creative presentation. The competition for the awards will be tense, with more than 165 artists in various categories set to show their work. (Subscribe to the Patch Lakewood newsletter for local news and updates.)
Throughout the festival, bands will play live music on three different stages: the Mars Stage on Mars and Detroit, the Park Stage on Cook and Detroit, and the Beck Stage on St. Charles and Detroit. There will also be plenty of grub to choose from, with plenty of dining options (check them out here).

There will even be fun treats for pets, courtesy of the Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS), which will be selling pet-friendly snacks. (And they're looking for volunteers to bake more treats.)
