Lakewood Business Owner Wins Regional Award

The owner of a local salon has been named the Bright Star recipient by NOACC.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Carol Barrett, of Carol Lynn's Salon Plus on Madison Avenue, has been selected as the 2018 Bright Star recipient by the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC). Barrett will receive her award Thursday, at the semi-annual Chamber Leadership meeting.

The NOACC described Barrett as "esteemed business owner" who" has worked tirelessly to create a vibrant merchant association in her neighborhood." Barrett is on the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Board and was the local recipient of the Outstanding Member Award.

“A chamber’s success is due in great part to the support from its volunteers. They are the true cheerleaders of our organizations and deserve our praise and appreciation regularly," said Tony Gallo, NOACC Chairman.

More than 40 chambers of commerce from across northern Ohio nominated a candidate for the Bright Star award. The recognition goes to a chamber member that has “made a significant impact on the chamber through membership, retention, sponsorship, economic development, operations and/or education.”

Candidates must be active in the chamber for no less than two years to be considered. Barrett will accept her award, from Gallo, during the October 25 meeting.
