Lakewood Citizens Police Academy Starts Early 2018
Want to learn more about the issues facing the city from a police perspective? This is your chance.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Residents that want to get an inside look at how their local police department works will soon have their chance. The Lakewood Police Department is hosting the Lakewood Police Citizens' Academy, a 12-week program that starts Jan. 11, 2018.
The Academy is composed of weekly sessions, each held Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Citizens' Academy concludes March 29, 2018. Different speakers will talk with attendees about a variety of "policing issues in Lakewood."
Among the scheduled speakers are Mayor Mike Summers, Lakewood Judge Patrick Carroll and a member of the city's Law Department. Attendees will also get to ride-along with a patrol officer.

Understandably, the program is open to Lakewood residents and people work work in Lakewood, only. Attendees must be at least 21-years-old and cannot have been convicted a felony or "serious" misdemeanor.
Luckily, there's no admission cost.
