Lakewood City Schools: Voters Pass Issue 28 By Wide Margin

According to the unofficial results from the Cuyahoga Board of Elections, the 3.9 mill operating levy and 1.0 permanent improvement levy was passed by Lakewood voters by a margin of 76.66% to 23.34% Thank you, Lakewood voters!
The new revenue stream will allow the District to move forward with initiatives that will strengthen and expand our educational offerings as well as maintain our buildings, athletic fields, and other capital assets. Some of the areas of focus will be:

- Providing mental health services for elementary students;
- Retaining and recruiting high-quality teachers by paying them competitive salaries
- Adding STEM offerings to prepare students for their futures;
- Keeping educational technology and other learning materials up-to-date;
- Expanding career and technical educational opportunities for middle and high school students;
- Expanding early childhood programs for our community’s youngest learners
