LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood's longtime finance director, Jennifer Pae, submitted a letter of resignation this week. Her resignation will go into effect January 1, 2020, when the newly elected administration of Meghan George is installed. Pae said she intends to pursue George's soon-to-be vacant at-large seat on city council.

In her resignation letter, emailed to city staff on Wednesday, Pae said with a new mayor incoming, she would tender her resignation and allow the process for finding her replacement to begin as soon as possible. She then said she had already begun exploring other "promising opportunities."

One of those opportunities is incumbent mayor George's soon-to-be vacant seat on city council. Pae said she intends to submit her name for consideration by city council when they vote on George's replacement.

"The city of Lakewood has come a long way financially since 2006 when I started with the city. The accomplishments are many, and I would like to work to protect all of that great work and continue this momentum as a member of city council," Pae said in her resignation letter, which she shared with Patch on Friday.

At the conclusion of her letter, Pae wished her colleagues good luck and said it had been an honor to work alongside them.
