Lakewood Firefighters Contain House Fire
Crews kept flames from spreading throughout a house on Wyandotte Avenue on Tuesday.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Firefighters battled a house fire on Wyandotte Avenue on Tuesday, Fire Chief Scott Gilman told Patch. The blaze was contained in the home's basement and no one was hurt during the incident.
The fire happened in the 1500 block of Wyandotte. There were four people at the home when the fire started. The residents called 911 around 2 p.m. and said there was a fire in the house but they weren't sure where it had started.
When firefighters arrived there was smoke throughout the home. Firefighters discovered the blaze had started in the basement and crews were able to keep it contained there. None of the residents were hurt.

Investigators are just beginning to look for the cause of the fire, Gilman said.
