Lakewood Girls Basketball Wins District Championship
The Rangers defeated Medina in the District Championship game, winning their first district title since 1995 in the process.

LAKEWOOD, OH - The Lakewood Girls Basketball team are district champions. The Rangers played Medina in the championship game and won the game 49-41. The team's last district championship win was in 1995, 22 years ago.
The district championship was played at Valley Forge High School. Lakewood was led in scoring by junior Olivia Nagy, who dropped 23 points. The team's frenzied defense and full-court press worked to perfection for the Rangers and forced Medina to play from behind throughout the game.
The Rangers finished the regular season with a 17-7 regular season record and a 12-6 record. Lakewood defeated Magnificat High School in the last round on Feb. 27, winning by a score of 47-36.

The team is coached by Mike Harper.
The Rangers will take the court next on March 7. The team will do battle with Berea-Midpark High School in a Regional Quarterfinal game.
