Good afternoon,
In light of recent events across the nation, a few changes have been made at LHS to increase safety and security for students and staff.
Effective immediately, students will no longer be permitted to access their cars during the day whether they are parked on campus or off campus.
Additionally, effective immediately, when dropping items off at the Main Office for students, one must enter through Door 4 and sign in. No students will be permitted to go out to a car to get items.
Again, the intention behind these new procedures is to safeguard the safety and well-being of students and staff as much as possible. If you have any questions regarding these new procedures, please contact your student's house office.
Regards,
Keith Ahearn
While I appreciate the attempts made to keep our children safe, I have a couple of questions.

When a student has a Dr's appointment during the school day, are they allowed to go their car, and if so, are they allowed to return to school after the appointment? It appears from this email, that if they left school grounds, they would not be welcome to return. Some students, including mine, use their own vehicle to get to athletic events during the school day. Again, what is the policy on returning to school?
I believe these issues need to dealt with, if this is to be a successful policy change.
