Everywhere you look, there are Scarecrows on Madison Avenue! This year has proven to be another great showcase with seventy scarecrows on street corners, on roof lines of buildings, and in store front windows holding their place of honor.
The Sixth Annual Lakewood Scarecrow Festival began Monday, October 8 and is adorning Madison Avenue through Sunday, October 21, 2018 from West 117 to Riverside Drive. This has been a fun opportunity for individuals, families, businesses, clubs and organizations to get involved and get their creativity on! In the past, PTAs, Girl Scout Troops, businesses, and neighbors took advantage of this fun project making Madison Avenue a lively destination.
Registration fee for a scarecrow is $25.00 with proceeds benefiting Lakewood Kiwanis’ Eliminate Project. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Kiwanis International‘s current global campaign for children-The Eliminate Project. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is committed to eliminating this disease that kills one baby every nine minutes.
