Shannon Strachan, LakewoodAlive’s marketing director, is most excited about the “sprinkler park.”

It’s “an entire piece that’s about seven feet long, that’s going to hook up to a water main,” she explained.

Though, if a giant sprinkler is not your idea of fun, there is always rock climbing, belly dancing, jazzercise, yoga, hula hooping, break dancing, basketball, skateboarding, square dancing or a 4-square tournament.

Also, children can dance, play games and win prizes thanks to the inclusion of the Radio Disney Road Crew.

The Lakewood Streetwalk, sponsored in part by LakewoodAlive, offers something for everyone.

“It’s a community event promoting active living and getting out in the street, enjoying our city for what it is,” Strachan said.

“The past two years, we’ve had about 5,000 (people) attend.”

The Streetwalk will take place on Saturday along Detroit Ave. between Arthur and Marlowe avenues. It will go from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event will coincide with the , a downtown event featuring a 5K race and live music.

Admission is free.
