Lakewood Offers Free Tax Preparation
Lakewood tax preparation help offered to residents.

Lakewood is helping residents prepare their 2015 municipal taxes: Free of charge.
Residents can take advantage of the cityβs e-Preperation service by visiting the βPay Taxesβ section of the municipal website. Tax returns are due by April 18.
Trained auditors will offer in-person help at the tax department office, which will offer extended business hours beginning March 22 through the end of tax season.

From March 22 through April 14, the office will be open from 8:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The office will operate during the same hours on April 15 and April 18. On April 9 and April 16, residents will be able to file their taxes from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m.
Normal hours of operation at the Lakewood Municipal Tax Division, located at 12805 Detroit Avenue, are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

Wondering if you have to pay taxes this year? If you fall under one of these categories, you have to file.
- All residents and part-year residents who are age 18 or older
- Residents or non-residents who conduct business in the city of Lakewood (both income and loss must be reported)
- Residents or non-residents who own property in the city of Lakewood (both income and loss must be reported)
- Non-residents who worked in Lakewood but whose employer did not withhold income tax
