Lakewood Police Hosting Coffee with a Cop Dec. 3

LAKEWOOD, OH - If you've ever wanted to have a conversation with one of your local police officers, your chance will soon be here. The Lakewood Police Department will host its third “Coffee With A Cop” event on Friday, December 2nd from 7 to 9 a.m. at GetGo, 14013 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood.

Join members of the department for coffee and conversation. There will be no agenda or speeches — just a chance to ask questions and to get to know your neighborhood officers.

The participating officers won’t provide coffee, but they will have some tokens to give away to those who stop by. This will hopefully help to strengthen the relationship between residents and the police, and also help a business out in the process.

Coffee with a Cop Day is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The concept goes hand in hand with the department's ongoing "Community Conversations." With no agenda and no speeches, both Coffee with a Cop Day and "Community Conversations" allow for a casual atmosphere where the citizens and the officers who serve them get to know each other on a more personal level.
