Lakewood Polling Locations and Precincts Changed, Early Voting Begins

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is reducing the number of precincts in a number of cities, including Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD, OH - Early voting has begun for the Nov. 8 election and more than 6,000 Lakewood citizens have requested vote by mail ballots.

According to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (BOE), 2,599 Lakewood Democrats have requested vote by mail ballots. Republicans in the city have requested 1,395 such ballots, and 2,016 Lakewood citizens who don't identify with a party have requested vote by mail ballots. So far, nine ballots have been returned to the BOE.

For those who didn't request vote by mail ballots, you should be aware that your voting location may have changed. The BOE has reduced a number of precincts throughout the county, including precincts in Lakewood.

According to the city's website, these are the major changes to the polling locations:

  • Move precinct 4B from Lake Shore Towers to Garfield Middle School
  • Move precinct 4C from Cove United Methodist Church to Garfield Middle School

If your precinct has been impacted by the changes, you should receive a postcard in the mail altering you to where you should go on Nov. 8.
