The Lakewood Rangers came to the Play by Play Basketball Classic at Elyria Catholic HS with only 1 loss and showing the media quality play from their "bigs" (3 players over 6'5"). They started this game with an aggressive attitude taking the ball strong to the hoop. Leading most of the way, they realized in the 4th quarter that their opponent was a tough, gritty squad that wasn't going to just give up and die.
Lutheran East's quick and nimble guards slowly but surely brought them back into the fray. With the game tied in the last minute, clutch shots were made by both sides but Lutheran made what I thought was an NBA caliber clutch shot to win at the buzzer. I said to the media around me "that when you win by a great clutch shot like that, you deserve to win!"
