Lakewood Restaurant Lands On List Of Best Date Spots

LAKEWOOD, OH — When OpenTable compiled its roster of the 50 best "date night" restaurants in America, only two eateries in Ohio made the cut. Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Columbus was one of the list-makers, the other was Pier W in Lakewood.

Located on Lake Avenue, with views of Lake Erie, Pier W has reeled in plenty of awards over the years, including Diners Choice Award from OpenTable, the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator and a 2019 Silver Spoon Award from Cleveland Scene. The restaurant has dazzled diners since its opening in 1965. Booking a reservation at Pier W could alleviate the stress of having to find the right place to eat on a fall date, according to OpenTable.

The company said they wanted to create a comprehensive list of the best places to get a bite with a partner. The list was composed based on diner reviews submitted between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019. Qualifying restaurants were scored according to the sum of tags spanning “GoodForDates” or “Good for a Date” as a percentage of total reviews.

“Given the added stress daters face when looking for the right restaurant, we wanted to create a go-to list that offers a restaurant for any date - whether it’s your first or one-thousandth,” said Anna Besse, OpenTable marketing director. “And for a more personalized experience, diners can turn to our ‘Date Night Matchmaker’ feature for a no-fret way to find the perfect restaurant based on their specific dining preferences.”
