Lakewood Schools Calendar: 13 Must-Know Dates for Winter 2016-17

LAKEWOOD, OH -Students in Lakewood are back in school for just a few more weeks until the extended winter holidays. And parents better pull out the calendar now and start making plans because winter break is just around the corner.

With nearly two weeks off for winter break, parents will want to start planning activities for their kids. Winter Break begins Dec. 19 and students return to classes on Jan. 3. That's a lot of time to plan for and Patch will be releasing a steady stream of ideas on how you can spend your holiday time with your kids.

Here are some of the important upcoming dates for Lakewood School parents to be cognizant of:

• Winter Break: Dec. 19 - Jan. 3
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 16
• End of Grading Period: Jan. 19
• Professional Day for Teacher: Jan. 20

The school system will also play host to a series of holiday events leading up to Winter Break. The Winter Choral Concert will be held Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be two Sounds of the Season concerts on Dec. 15 and Dec. 15. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m.
