For Lakewood Schools, where many students walk to their buildings, the possibility of exposure to extreme and dangerous cold, led to the district's closure.
The Lakewood Recreation Center's programs, and the Lakewood Pool, will both be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. The fitness facility and indoor track will still be open, and will be there to help warm residents up.
