LAKEWOOD, OH - Last Monday, the Lakewood City Schools bid farewell to a group of retiring staffers. The district held a going away reception at Garfield Middle School for 11 of the 15 retirees.

At the end of the school year, 15 Lakewood Schools employees will retire. The departing staffers were recognized at the May 20 Board of Education meeting, where board members bid each staffer good luck in the future.

"While it is bittersweet to say goodbye to so many dedicated professionals and we will miss their expertise and knowledge, we wish them all well in their next phase of life. They have made Lakewood Schools better for being here," Lakewood Schools Superintendent Michael Barnes said.
