Lakewood Senator Hears Concerns Of Woman-Owned Business Leaders
State Senator Nickie Antonio led a round-table discussion to hear the concerns of women-owned business leaders in Ohio.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Last week, State Senator Nickie Antonio led a round-table discussion on women-owned businesses in Ohio. She wanted to address the unique concerns of women business leaders and discern possible legislative solutions.
Antonio, a Democrat from Lakewood, was joined by representatives from around the state. Members of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Businesses, Greater Cleveland Partnership, National Association of Women Owned Businesses (Columbus chapter), and other women-owned businesses took part in the discussion.
“The conversation was robust and meaningful, and I look forward to continued discussions on how to make Ohio friendly for women-owned businesses,” said Antonio.

The event was held in the law offices of Squire, Patton & Boggs in Columbus.
Last year, the annual State of Women-Owned Businesses report, by American Express, found the number of women-owned businesses in Ohio had grown 37 percent since 2007. This year's report ranked Cleveland as one of the metro regions where women business leaders have the most clout.
