Lakewood State Senator Earns Top Spot On Committee

From OH State Senate: The Ohio Senate recently announced that state Senator Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) will serve as Ranking Democratic Member on the following committees for the 133rd General Assembly:

• Transportation, Commerce and Workforce
• Health, Human Services and Medicaid
• Joint Medicaid Oversight

“I appreciate the honor and responsibility of being in a leadership position on these Senate Committees and am ready to get to work for the people of Ohio, especially those who sent me here from Senate District 23,” said Antonio.

Senator Antonio will also sit on the following committees:

• Finance
• Finance Subcommittee on Health & Medicaid
• Ways and Means

Committee assignments generally correspond to each senator’s policy interests and provide them with the opportunity to influence, alter and debate bills during the initial phase of lawmaking.
