Lakewood Truckjacker Busted By U.S. Marshals

The suspect had eluded law enforcement for six months. Than the Marshals asked the public for help.

LAKEWOOD, OH — David Fields, a 52-year-old wanted for truckjacking in Lakewood, was busted by the U.S. Marshals this week. Fields had eluded law enforcement for nearly six months prior to his capture.

The robbery took place June 9, 2017 in Lakewood. Fields reportedly approached the driver of a delivery truck and ordered him to get into the back of Fields' vehicle. Fields then took the man's truck keys and drove the truck to the area of E. 108th and Arthur in Cleveland. Several suspects then helped Fields unload the truck, stealing the cigarettes.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force made Fields its Fugitive of the Week to start 2018. Fields was wanted by both the U.S. Marshals and Lakewood Police. Soon after his identity was publicized, Fields was captured.
