Lakewood Vs St. Ed's: District Boy's Basketball On Tap

The Rangers and the Eagles have a date in the district playoff semi-finals on Wednesday.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The city will see its two high schools square off in a district semifinal boys basketball game on Wednesday. Lakewood High and St. Edward High will play basketball against one another for a chance to advance to the district finals.

The game will be played at 7 p.m. in Strongsville. The Rangers of Lakewood and the Eagles of St. Edward first played against each other in the first game of the season, a contest the Eagles won. Whoever wins the semifinal match-up will then play the winner of the Medina-St. Ignatius game.

In the first game of the season, St. Ed's was able to take down the Rangers by a score of 51-38. The Eagles will want to continue their dominance and Lakewood will want to score a little revenge.

Lakewood has had one of its best seasons in recent memory, going 22-2 and winning a division title. St. Ed's has been its usual dominant self racking up a 20-3 record with some key wins, including the match-up with the Rangers.

Lakewood took down North Royalton, 57-49, to advance to the game with St. Ed's. The Rangers dismantled Rhodes High in a 31-point blowout to advance.
