Lakewood Woman Sentenced to Two Years in Jail After her Passenger Dies

Aaron Maxwell, 20, of Avon Lake was ejected out of her car and died from his injuries.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A 24-year-old Lakewood woman was sentenced to two years in prison Thursday on aggravated vehicular homicide and felonious assault charges. Claire M. Livingston killed a 20-year-old Avon Lake man when he was riding with her in her pickup truck in Aug. 2015, Cleveland.com reports.

On Aug. 25, 2015, Livingston and Aaron Maxwell were riding in Livingston's 1997 Dodge Ram on Interstate 71. Livingston began to drive recklessly and swerved in and out of traffic because she was angry, prosecutors said. Livingston was also driving on a suspended license.

Maxwell was ejected out of the truck and died from his injuries at MetroHealth Medical Center.

"I will never be able to watch him fulfill his dream and become an MMA fighter. I will never be able to watch him fall in love and toast at his wedding," Maxwell's Aunt, Anette Kordish, said, according to Cleveland.com.

Livingston pleaded guilty to a reduce indictment in Sept. She faces three years of mandatory probation once she's released, and she cannot drive a car for ten years after she's released.
