LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood students have until October 1 to apply for the new Lakewood Youth Council. The inaugural group will provide insight on youth activities and desires to city officials, and give youth activists access to Lakewood's leaders.

The Lakewood Youth Council, established this year, will spend about four hours meeting each month. It has not yet been decided what day of the week meetings will be held, but attendance at the meetings will be crucial for council members.

One of the goals for the new group is to create partnerships between local enterprises and Lakewood Youth Council and to work with non-profit organizations to better serve Lakewood youth.
