LAKEWOOD, OH — Albert Einstein Academy of Ohio, an LGBTQ-affirming public charter, is opening a Lakewood campus in fall 2018, according to the organization's website. The campus will serve students in grades 9-12.
Bruce Thomas is the superintendent of the charter school group, which has locations in Westlake and Strongsville already. He said in a statement on the Albert Einstein Academy of Ohio website that his team saw a need for added resources for LGBTQ students in the Cleveland-area.
"We will provide a quality education delivered by an extremely well-trained, professional and focused staff," Thomas said on the website. "We welcome all students regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation and support students with specific learning needs through the development and implementation of specific Education Plans."
