LAKEWOOD, OH —The first Listen & Learn with Lakewood Superintendent Michael Barnes will be held Jan. 22 at Taco Tonto's. Residents can use the event to ask questions about the upcoming school levy or any topic of concern.

The first Listen & Learn of 2020 will start at noon. Taco Tonto's is located at 13321 Madison Avenue.

The district has planned two additional Listen & Learn sessions with Barnes for early 2020. After Jan. 22, residents can attend a session at 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the Lakewood Main Library auditorium.

A third session will be held on March 11. The time and location of that event have not yet been determined, a district spokesperson told Patch.

In December 2019, the Lakewood Board of Education approved placing a 3.9-mill operating levy, and 1-mill permanent replacement levy, on the March 2020 primary ballot. Barnes said the levy would cost taxpayers "less than $2 a month more than they currently pay" based on a property valuation of $100,000.
