- A Lakewood resident recently joined the cast of Peacock's Love Island USA Season 4 — will he find love? The dating reality show welcomed Tyler Radziszewski to the cast during its most recent episode on Thursday, Jul. 21. Radziszewski, who was born in Cleveland and currently lives in Lakewood, is currently studying to earn a Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy from the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. - Make lasting memories with these Cleveland area festivals scheduled through the end of summer. Coming up here in town is the Lakewood Arts Fest, a free downtown event taking place on Saturday, Aug. 6. - An area man thwarted two suspects who were attempting to break into his vehicle. According to the Lakewood Police Blotter, the resident called the department on Jul. 14 to report he had caught the suspects in the act. When he confronted the duo, they entered a vehicle to make their escape. (cleveland.com)

- On Friday, the Lakewood community held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly-renovated Fire Station #2 on Detroit Avenue. The renovations include a 2800-square-foot addition to the apparatus bay, interior updates with some added safety features, and a public art mural.
