Man Killed In SR 176 Crash Identified As Lakewood Resident
A car crash on the Jennings Freeway claimed the life of a 43-year-old Lakewood man on Sunday.
LAKEWOOD, OH — A 43-year-old Lakewood man was killed in a car crash on the Jennings Freeway on Sunday morning, police said. That man has been identified as Jason Shimko, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office announced on Monday morning.
The car accident happened at 5 a.m. on Sunday, on State Route 176, commonly known as the Jennings Freeway. When EMS crews arrived, Shimko was already dead and a 30-year-old man had to be rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition.
The crash happened near the Spring Road exit on SR 176.

It is not yet clear what caused the car accident. Cleveland police did not immediately respond to Patch's request for additional information on the investigation.
