March For Our Lives: Lakewood Students In D.C. [Photos]
Saturday was the national March for Our Lives protest. A group of students from Lakewood made the trek to the nation's capital.
LAKEWOOD, OH — Saturday was the March for Our Lives protest. Students and activists from across the nation marched both in Washington, D.C. and in metro areas across the country. Eager to join the throng of teenage protesters working for safer schools, Lakewood students headed to the nation's capital.
As part of the Student Committee of Activism, a group of Lakewood High students were able to raise funds and supplies, with the community's help, and head to the flagship March for Our Lives protest in Washington, D.C. With the group's permission Patch is sharing photos and video of their experience.
Using GoFundMe, the students raised money for a bus to ferry them to and from Washington, D.C. Then using social media, the teenagers asked for supplies of food and water to keep them nourished during the trip.

Even the owner of local restaurant El Carnicero, Eric Williams, was inspired by the student's energy and eagerness to find and use their voices. So Williams donated four cases of chips and 330 bottles of Gatorade.
Images from the group's time in the capital are above and a video is below.
