Mayor Meghan George has been appointed by the Ohio Mayors Alliance to its Education Advocacy Leadership Committee. The committee focuses on workforce development and educational attainment of Ohioans.

Mayor George said, “It is an honor to be appointed to this committee by the Ohio Mayors Alliance. Education is undoubtedly one of the most important issues facing communities like Lakewood across Ohio. Cities rely on a healthy and robust workforce to succeed economically and socially, so I am excited to be part of this next step in strengthening and advancing Ohio’s educational future.”
The committee will be a forum for mayors to share ideas, discuss policy priorities, and advocate for community education at the state and federal levels. The committee’s primary goal is for 65% of Ohioans to attain a postsecondary education or another credential by 2025.
