Meet Your Lakewood Police On May 25

Have a cup of coffee with the men and women that patrol the city's streets.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The Lakewood Police Department is putting on another Coffee with a Cop at Blackbird Baking Company, 1391 Sloane Avenue from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, May 25.

Officers will be ready and anxious to have a cup of joe and a warm conversation with the people they protect and serve. There's no preset agenda, no planned speeches, just a chance for you to interact with your neighborhood police.

Notably, the coffee isn't free. However, officers will provide some tokens to give away to folks who stop by and chat them up.

The city says that it hopes the event "will hopefully help to strengthen the relationship between residents and the police, and also help a business out in the process."

The Coffee with a Cop event is part of a broader, national movement to humanize neighborhood police and deepen the connection between officers and the people they protect.
