Meet Your Local Lakewood Cops April 13

LAKEWOOD, OH — The Coffee with a Cop series will continue this month on April 13. Residents will have the chance to meet the officers that patrol their neighborhoods and cul-de-sacs and chat about whatever catches their fancy.

This month's event will be held at La Maison Palette, 12001 Detroit Ave. Officers will be at the shop from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Officers won't be providing free coffee, but there will be some tokens given away to attendees. "This will hopefully help to strengthen the relationship between residents and the police, and also help a business out in the process," the city said on its website.

The city started hosting these Coffee with a Cop events several years ago. They've continued to promote these events since then.

The Coffee with a Cop event is part of a broader, national movement to humanize neighborhood police and deepen the connection between officers and the people they protect.
