Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:
- Lakewood-based eatery, Melt Bar and Grilled announced that it has permanently closed its Shore Restaurant. The popular restaurant had previously announced that it was temporarily closing its doors due to staffing issues. Owner Matt Fish said in a press release that they made the difficult decision because of staffing challenges, major cost increases, and other issues related to navigating a post-pandemic world. - Thirty-seven-year-old Shannon Stasiak of Cleveland died on Saturday morning on Interstate 480 in a single-car crash. Stasiak was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima westbound when her car rotated clockwise as it traveled across traffic lanes before hitting a median barrier. Stasiak was thrown from the vehicle after it rolled several times. (Cleveland.com)
- Mayfield Heights city officials are allowing most of the residents of the Mayfield Gardens Apartments on Mallard Drive to move back into their units that were previously condemned. The notice came after an inspection that deemed the building no longer entirely condemned, though some apartments remain uninhabitable. The condemned apartments left more than 100 residents without a place to go. (Cleveland 19)
