Melt Partners With Western Reserve Distillery

LAKEWOOD, OH — Melt Bar & Grilled is partnering with the newly opened Western Reserve Distillery to bring the latter's locally made vodka to diners throughout Greater Cleveland. All of Melt's Cleveland locations will now carry Western Reserve vodka.

While the vodka was installed in Melt restaurants on September 1, there will be a launch party at all Cleveland locations on Friday, September 7. Representatives from Western Reserve Distillery will be on-hand to talk about the company's operations and offer samples of organic vodka.

Western Reserve Distillers opened in late May of this year, with Distill Table (the restaurant attached to the distillery) opening in late August. Distill Table will have a grand opening celebration September 8, the day after the company's roll-out at Melt Cleveland locations.

The distillery occupies more than 21,000 square feet on Madison Avenue. Kevin Thomas, the company founder, has said the distillery will source its ingredients locally and will explore every option for sustainability.

To celebrate Western Reserve Distillers opening, Melt will create specialty cocktails to highlight the company's vodka and gin. Those cocktails are, according to Melt:

• Spring-Heeled Jack / WRD Vodka, Tom’s Foolery Applejack, Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram, ginger puree, walnut bitters.
• Strawberry Beret / WRD Gin, Lichi-Li, strawberry puree, lime juice, champagne float.
• The Grand Prize / WRD Gin, Gran Gala, Giffard Crème de Violette, lemon juice, mixed berry preserves.
• Raspberry Sparkler / WRD Vodka, Gran Gala, fresh lemon juice, fresh raspberries, sparkling wine.
• Violet Beauregarde / WRD Vodka, Gran Gala, fresh lime juice, fresh blueberries, red wine.
• Thor's Hammer / WRD Vodka, Gran Gala, ginger, prickly pear puree.
