Michael Echko, 47, U.S. Navy Veteran, Beloved Father

Michael is survived by his son, Joseph Echko.

Michael David Echko, 47, passed away Friday, Jan. 13 at his home in Lakewood.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1964 in Lorain, Ohio, according to the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center.

During the 1980's, Echko proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. He was a seaman of the USS Bagley and served throughout the Western Pacific.

Before his passing, he was employed at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Echko, Lorain; sisters, Donna Furci, Lorain and Shirley Poe, Sheffield Lake; three nieces and two nephews.

He enjoyed watching football and was an avid music fan.

The Echko family will receive family and friends on Friday, Jan. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd. in Amherst.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Michael to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
