Most Popular College For 2017 Lakewood Grads Is Tri-C
Nearly 100 Lakewood High School graduates in the class of 2017 will attend Cuyahoga Community College in the fall.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The most popular destination for the Lakewood High School Class of 2017 is Cuyahoga Community College, with 96 students set to attend the school in the fall. Cleveland State University will be getting 56 LHS seniors for the 2017-2018 school year. Ten students will also joined the Armed Forces.
The Lakewood Schools released a breakdown of where the 2017 seniors will be headed post-graduation. The most selective school that accepted a LHS student was the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania, where only 9.4 percent of students are accepted. The most popular private school among LHS graduates was John Carroll University, which will receive six members of the Class of 2017.
One student will also make the long trip to Texas to attend Lone Star College in Houston. Other out-of-state institutions getting LHS grads include: the University of Pittsburgh, University of Wisconsin, Michigan State University, and West Virginia University. American University, Belmont University, Brigham Young University, Carleton College, DePaul University, D'Youville College, Fordham University, Georgetown University, Johnson & Wales University, Marywood University, and York University will also get LHS students.

The University of Cincinnati saw the biggest increase in LHS attendees versus 2016. Seventeen LHS grads will become Bearcats in the fall, a 59 percent increase over a year ago.
