LAKEWOOD, OH — The Lakewood City Schools will soon have a new assistant superintendent, according to a district spokesperson. Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District's Margret Niedzwiecki will take over the position.

Niedzwiecki was a finalist for the Orange Superintendent position in February, according to the Cleveland Jewish News. That position eventually went to Wendell “Lynn” Campbell, the principal of Kirtland High School.

This is the second major administrative change for the district this year. Current Lakewood City Schools Assistant Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio was named Superintendent of the North Ridgeville Schools in February. Jeff Patterson, the district's longtime superintendent, announced he would be retiring following the 2017-2018 school year.
Barnes was named Lakewood City Schools' new superintendent in March.
Barnes was the assistant superintendent for Mayfield City Schools, prior to accepting the Lakewood position. Patterson will officially retire on July 31, with Barnes slated to start his position on August 1. He will have a 15-day transition period prior to his start date when he will be able to work with Patterson.
