New Lakewood Restaurant Focuses on Healthy, Local Food

Nature's Oasis will house over 150 Ohio-based companies, from pies from Paleo Pizza to popsicles from Chill Pop Shop.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A new market dedicated to all-natural, local Ohio food will open it's doors at 15613 Detroit Ave. come Nov. 4. Nature's Oasis will house over 150 Ohio-based companies, such as popsicles from Chill Pop Shop, pizza from Paleo Pizza, and pierogi from the Pierogi Lady, Cleveland.com reports.

One side of the 3,300 square-foot space holds produce racks, freezers, and other typical grocery store structures. The other side has a full-service, all day café that serves food and drinks.

"We're really focusing on telling the stories of the local brands. It lets them know they're supporting the local economy. Our goal is to grow the Northeast Ohio market, and the only way to do that is draw attention to those products," owner Elliott Endsley said to Cleveland.com. "We want to make it more of an experience for the customer than just grabbing groceries or a coffee."

Nature's Oasis will offer products like coffee, tea, smoothies, breakfast bowls, salads and sandwiches. The market plans to use bread from Breadsmith of Lakewood and partner with area roasting companies to provide local coffee.

"When you look at the population of Lakewood, you have a lot of health-conscious people who are active," says Endsley. "There's also great foot traffic in the area. The space was perfect."

The space will reflect the message of Nature's Oasis. Displays will show where each product comes from and the décor is made from upcycled materials, like the ceiling made from reclaimed barns roofs.
