🌱 New York Times Honors Lakewood Student + Weekend Weather

Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. The City of Lakewood announced on Facebook a special joint meeting of the Planning Commission and Architectural Board of Review on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:00 p.m. The Commission and Board will introduce the Downtown Development which will start the process for the Planned Development review. The meeting will take place at the City Hall Auditorium. (Facebook)
  2. Lakewood High School student Helen Roche, a recent STEM writing award winner, was recognized by the New York Times yesterday. The internationally renowned newspaper honored the top eight winners of The Learning Network's third annual STEM Writing Contest by publishing their essays. Roche's essay is entitled, "Color and the Brain: Are We All Simply Puppets of the Color Palette?" (The Lakewood Observer)
  3. Northeast Ohio residents can expect afternoon and evening rain today with thunderstorms likely. Sunday will be mostly dry with early morning clouds giving way to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s over the weekend. (Cleveland 19)
