Northeast Ohio Band Auctioning Beanie: Bids Reach Nearly $100K
Heart Attack Man have put a beloved orange beanie up for auction on eBay. The current high bid is $95,700. That's an expensive beanie.

ROCKY RIVER, OH — A Northeast Ohio band is auctioning off a worn orange beanie...and bids to buy the item have reached dizzying heights. As of Tuesday morning, the high bid was $95,700.
Heart Attack Man, who say they hail from Cleveland on their Facebook and have been regulars at Mahall's in Lakewood, are selling one of their used orange beanies. On the beanie's eBay page, the band said they were strapped for cash.
That won't be a problem for much longer.

More than 150 bids have been submitted for the beanie and prices have climbed steadily toward $100,000. That's one expensive beanie.
To be fair, Eric Egan, who sings and plays guitar in the band, said the beanie has appeared with the band in promotional photos and videos and during concerts.

"Featured in countless photos and videos of mine all over the internet, this is not your average everyday ordinary beanie. The amount of ideas I’ve thought of while wearing this beanie is astronomical. I’ve played many shows in it. This beanie alone has left a remarkable impact on this earth. Should fit most any head size," the band wrote on eBay.
Alt Press asked Egan what he planned to do with the sudden influx of cash. This is what he said: "I’m gonna use the money to get a haircut and tip really well.”

For those that may want a similar orange beanie, but don't want to mortgage their house for a bid, the band sells branded orange beanies on their website — for $25.
For those that just want to watch the bids climb and climb, here's the eBay page. The page says the beanie will ship from Rocky River.
It's also worth reminding folks that Ohio leads the nation in strange fundraising and auction phenomenons. In 2014, Zach Brown, of Columbus, raised more than $55,000...so he could make a potato salad.
