Ohio Man Sentenced For Robbing Lakewood Bank

Andre Harris was sentenced to 10 years in prison for robbing banks in Lakewood, Cleveland and Eastlake.

CLEVELAND — An Ohio man was sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison for robbing banks in Lakewood, Cleveland and Eastlake, the Department of Justice announced. All three robberies happened within one week in February.

Andre Harris, 49, from Columbus, previously pleaded guilty to three county of bank robbery. He was sentenced this month to 118 months in federal prison.

According to the Department of Justice, Harris first robbed the Key Bank at 3601 Chester Avenue in Cleveland, on February 8. He robbed Fifth Third in Lakewood on February 11 and then robbed Chase Bank in Eastlake on February 15.

The FBI said on February 12 that a man walked into Fifth Third, approached a teller, and demanded money. He got the cash and then left the bank. He was last seen walking on W. 150th Street. No one was hurt during the robbery.

However, the suspect was caught on surveillance camera footage and images of the man were released to the public. Harris was later identified as the suspect and taken into custody. He was investigated by the FBI, Cleveland police, Lakewood police and Eastlake police.
