Ohio State Fair Band Welcomes 4 Lakewood Students

The All-Ohio State Fair Band is composed of 200 students from across Ohio. This year's event included four Lakewood High players.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Four Lakewood High students represented the school district as members of the All-Ohio State Fair Band over the past two weeks. The band is composed of just 200 students from across Ohio who must come together and learn music for 10 days of performances during the State Fair.

This year, seniors Lidia Logan, alto sax, and Kira Marjanovic, principal trumpet, junior Katie Livingston, flute, and sophomore Gina Marjanovic, French horn, performed in honor of Lakewood. All four students had to be recommended by the band director, in order to participate.

Logan and Kira are All-Ohio State Fair Band veterans, making return performances. Livingston and Gina were first-timers in the Band.

With more than 200 students performing as part of the Band, the students have just four days prior to the State Fair's opening to rehearse and learn their music. The band performs up to 10 times a day for attendees, including a daily parade through the 360-acre fairgrounds. The band also performs off-site at the Statehouse and at Columbus' Park of Roses, the school district said.

The Fair runs from July 25 to Aug. 5.
