Ohio's Red Gerard Gets 87 Burritos, Billboard For Winning Gold
The slopestyle snowboarder is getting some pretty cool perks for being the first American to take gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

ROCKY RIVER, OH — Red Gerard captured the nation's attention over the weekend when he became the first American to win a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. The slopestyle snowboarder is just 17-years-old and splits his time between Cleveland and Colorado. Now the teenager is reaping the fruits of his labor.
A billboard on Center Ridge Road in Rocky River, Gerard's hometown, was put up after his gold medal winning performance. The sign features the teenager's face and the simple message, "Congratulations, Red Gerard!"
What's probably cooler for a teenager is the perks he's getting from Chipotle. The chain restaurant famous for their burritos promised Gerard 87 complimentary burritos for his gold medal performance (he notched a score of 87 in his final slopestyle run).

Gerard became the youngest snowboarder to win gold for the U.S. on Saturday. Following his win, Chipotle tweeted to Redmond, "We like your style, @RedmondGerard. You've earned Gold, let us bring the Silver," referring to the silver foil around its burritos. Sadly, the free food will likely be claimed in Gerard's Colorado homestead.
Winning a gold medal has some dope perks, it seems.
