Opioid Epidemic To Be Discussed At Lakewood Event
A panel discussion will focus on what the opiate crisis means for the workplace.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A panel discussion on the perils of the opioid epidemic and what it means for workplaces across the region will be held April 13 in Lakewood. Co-hosted by the Cleveland Clinic and the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, speakers will describe what the opioid crisis means to Northeast Ohio and how the business community can help.
"Unfortunately, the opiate crisis has wreaked havoc in our region and small business owners are not immune to the affects of this epidemic. New data shows that addiction costs small businesses and organizations billions in profits due to losses in productivity, high turnover rates, theft in the workplace, increases in absenteeism, utilization of sick time, and decreases in quality of work," the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce said in an email describing the event.
"Organizational involvement" is more important than ever, according to the Chamber. This event will help businesses understand how to get involved.
