Parts Of Rocky River Reservation Closed Due To Coronavirus

To help stymie the spread of the new coronavirus, the Cleveland Metroparks are closing streets and parts of parks.

ROCKY RIVER, OH — Parts of the Rocky River Reservation are being closed to encourage park-goers to distance themselves during the new coronavirus outbreak. The closures are in effect immediately.

"Cleveland Metroparks has implemented several park restrictions to encourage social distancing and help prevent the spread of COVID-19. All park visitors should anticipate impacts that are necessary to help mitigate crowding," the metroparks said on their website.

Some areas will be closed only to cars. Other areas will be closed to all park-goers. Here's what will be closed in the Rocky River Reservation:

  • Area closed to vehicles, open to pedestrians: Valley Parkway from Spafford Rd. to Berea Falls.
  • Area closed: Fort Hill Stairs and area surrounding Nature Center.
  • Area closed: Rocky River Nature Center upper parking lot.
  • Area closed: Emerald Necklace Marina patio.
  • Area closed to vehicles, open to pedestrians: Hogsback Lane.
  • Area closed to vehicles, open to pedestrians: Rockcliffe Drive.

Parts of the Lakefront park will also be closed:

  • Area closed: Edgewater Pier.
  • Area closed: Upper deck of Edgewater Beach House.
  • Area closed: Upper Edgewater.
  • Area closed: Dog Beach.
  • Area closed: E. 55th Fishing Area.
